The Ockto Recruitment Process

At Ockto, we like to keep recruitment straightforward. You want to get to know us, and we want to get to know you — so we can both decide if we’re a good match. At the same time, we’d like to understand your skills and see how well you align with our core values.

Below, you’ll find the steps of our recruitment process. There may be slight differences depending on the position you’re applying for.

Sending in your application

When you find an interesting vacancy at Ockto, send us your CV and motivation. You can do this via our career site or the email address listed in the vacancy. We’ll confirm receipt once we’ve received your application.

Tip: Tell us why you want to join the Ockto team and what you can bring to it.

First acquaintance and screening

After receiving your application, we’ll review it carefully and get back to you within a week.
If we’re enthusiastic about your profile, our recruiter or HR manager will contact you for an initial introduction and quick screening — usually by phone or video call. Of course, this is also your opportunity to ask any questions you may have.

If all goes well, we’ll invite you for a first interview.

Tip: Take a look at our LinkedIn page and blog to get a feel for what we’re working on.

Your first visit

Congratulations — we’re about to meet! Your first interview will be with your potential colleagues.

We want you to feel comfortable and show your best self. Not everyone enjoys sitting across a table in a meeting room, so at Ockto, you can choose how you’d like to meet. Prefer a walk to get to know each other better? We’ll make sure to wear comfortable shoes. Or do you show your energy best over a quick game of ping pong? We’ll have the paddles ready!

We believe face-to-face contact adds real value. So for this interview — and others that may follow — we prefer to meet at our office. A digital meeting is also possible, depending on the situation, but we aim to have at least one in-person conversation.

After the interview, we’ll update you on the outcome within a week.

Practical case

Once you’ve passed the first interview, we’ll test your skills with a take-home assignment. Depending on the role, this could be a coding challenge, a plan to prepare, or a sales pitch presentation. The goal is to see you and your skills in action. You’ll usually have about a week to complete it.

In some cases, the case study will follow after the second interview instead.

The next interview

In the next interview, you’ll meet the MT member responsible for your team and other relevant stakeholders. Depending on the position, you might also have a final interview with our CEO, or this may be combined with the second conversation.

If the outcome is positive, we’ll make you an employment offer. We’ll answer all your questions so that you can make the best possible decision — hopefully to join us 🙂

Your first day at Ockto

Between accepting the offer and your first day, we’ll stay in touch to make sure everything is ready. We’ll order the smartphone of your choice and have your MacBook Pro waiting for you on your first day.

The day before, one of your new Ockto colleagues — your buddy — will contact you to let you know what to expect. Your buddy will guide you through your first day, answer questions and help you settle in.

If you’re joining us from abroad, we’ll also provide all the information you need to help you integrate smoothly in the Netherlands.

Working at Ockto

From the start, working at Ockto has been defined by a great atmosphere — built on teamwork, trust, and the right conditions to do your best work.

Excellent team spirit & culture

Everything begins with hiring the right people who embody our core values. The Ockto team is a dynamic group of smart, curious Ocktasians who bring out the best in each other every day.

We’re proud of our informal, friendly environment, with helpful colleagues who genuinely care for one another — and who know how to have fun. Our diverse backgrounds and experiences make Ockto an inspiring and inclusive place to work.

Fun and connection

Team spirit and fun are essential to us. Our yearly party committee organises great activities throughout the year — from puzzle rallies and ski trips to karting, darts, city trips and dinners.
And of course, we have our regular Friday drinks, after-meeting get-togethers, and the occasional (or daily) ping pong match at the office.

Modern & informal management style

At Ockto, our biggest fear is becoming a big, bulky organisation. That’s why we work in a flat structure with short lines and quick decisions.
We build on trust and ownership — giving you the flexibility to do your work under the conditions that suit you best.

Work wherever, whenever

We believe you should always have what you need to do your job well — whether you’re at home or in the office. You’ll get top-quality equipment (MacBook Pro, smartphone) and all the tools and support you need.

We value both collaboration and focused work. So whether you prefer the office, home, or another location, you and your team decide what works best.

And yes — we take care of you too. At the office, you’ll enjoy great coffee, soft drinks, fruit, snacks, the occasional beer or wine, and a healthy lunch with a company contribution in our building’s restaurant.
At home, you’ll have to take care of that yourself 😉

At Ockto, you’ll work on technology that matters, with people who care.
